Children's birthday cake - Peppa Pig

This time I don't have a sugar-free recipe for you. But I asked you in the story and you still wanted the recipe 😊

The cake turned out incredibly tasty and the sweetness was just right for our taste. I baked the three cakes two days before the birthday. I prepared the cream the day before, cut the cake plates and filled them with the cream and decorated them shortly before on the birthday.

It's a bit time-consuming, but if you start baking two days in advance and do everything little by little, it's easily doable 😊

I filled the cake with a mascarpone cream and for the outside I chose a buttercream.

I used an 18cm Ø springform pan and baked a total of 3 cakes with it. The birthday cake consisted of 6 cake layers in total.

Ingredients for 18cm Ø springform pan (2 cake layers):
220g flour
100ml whole milk or plant-based milk alternative
50-80g sugar
2 eggs
60ml rapeseed oil
35g butter or margarine (melted)
1 tsp vanilla extract
8g or half a pack of baking powder

Ingredients for the filling (complete cake):
500g mascarpone
200ml whipped cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
Optional: 7 tsp San Apart (so that the cream becomes firmer)
Food coloring (I used the colors from @eatarainbow_produkte as they are made from fruits and vegetables - bought myself)
3 heaped tablespoons of powdered sugar

Optional strawberry puree:
150g frozen strawberries
Optional: 1-2 tbsp sugar
Squeeze of lemon
3g agartine (you can also leave it out, you may have to let the strawberry puree simmer longer)
3 tablespoons water

Optional: 1-2 bananas

Buttercream for the outside:
350g cream cheese (Philadelphia double cream)
200g butter
100g powdered sugar
Some vanilla extract

Preparation for 1 cake batter:
1️⃣Preheat oven to 180°C top and bottom heat.
2️⃣Place eggs, sugar and vanilla extract in a large bowl and beat with a hand mixer for 2-3 minutes until creamy.
3️⃣Add oil, butter and milk and stir everything briefly.
4️⃣Mix flour and baking powder & gradually sift into the liquid ingredients and mix slowly.
5️⃣Line the bottom of the springform pan with baking paper, grease the edges and pour in the cake batter and smooth it out evenly.
6️⃣Bake in the preheated oven for approx. 20-35 minutes. (The baking time was different for all 3 cakes)

(It's best to test with a stick. If no dough sticks to the stick, the cake is ready)
7️⃣Take out the cake, let it cool down and cut it horizontally through the middle. If necessary, cut off odd areas. (see video)
🎂 Bake one or two more cakes as described above.
Strawberry puree:
Mix 1️⃣Agartine with 3 tablespoons of water before cooking.
2️⃣Let the TK strawberries thaw, mash or puree them and cook with a few splashes of lemon, if necessary sugar and agartine until there is no liquid left. Allow to cool in the refrigerator.
Preparation of mascarpone cream:
1️⃣Mix mascarpone, vanilla extract and powdered sugar with a hand mixer until creamy. If necessary, add 5 teaspoons of San Apart and continue stirring.
Gradually add 2 whipped cream and 2 tsp San Apart and stir until the cream really sets.
3️⃣Mix half of the cream with strawberry puree if necessary and leave the other half like that. Chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
Buttercream for the outside:
1️⃣Beat room temperature butter, vanilla extract and, if necessary, powdered sugar with a hand mixer for a few minutes until creamy.
2️⃣Then add cream cheese and mix with the butter.
3️⃣Color it as desired with food coloring and put it in the fridge for 1 hour.

Spread the cake bases with the cream and decorate:
1️⃣Paint the first cake base with white cream and the second with strawberry mascarpone. Repeat this alternately with other cake plates.
2️⃣If you like, you can cut bananas into slices and distribute them on the cake plates.
3️⃣Put the last base on top and chill for 2-3 hours or overnight.
4️⃣Pour the buttercream into a piping bag and decorate as desired.
